I have never had an issue with my vxdiag reprogramming a module.guess I have had good luck.I do have the Pro SE though. I have a cardaq 3+, but the patch will not run unless you have a vxdiag plugged in.so anytime I used ford ids I used my vxdiag, and anytime I used FJDS I used my cardaq 3. I will try an older version for flashing these older vehicles. Your issue may be because it fails to auto download go back to an earlier version of IDS which can do this
Only use late software for late vehicles earlier software will have more functionality and less issues (09-03-2021, 01:14 PM)mtechno Wrote: (09-03-2021, 02:52 AM)cptn_stababitch Wrote: (09-03-2021, 02:18 AM)mtechno Wrote: I used FJDS and it went through just fine.VX Diag is not good for reprogramming can bus systems, the chip is poor quality cannot acheive the higher voltage required, you are better to use a good quality J2534 pass thru.īest to use older software with less restictions V106 will allow free PATS access up to 2013 and also do offline programming Many VM ware versions of software may have glitch issues which are not apparent with native versions. I used FJDS and it went through just fine. It has you do it once more and says that it failed. I went back into the replace and program on the PCM and it goes through as if it is going to work to the point where it has you turn off the igntion and hit the checkmark, then turn it back on and hit the checkmark. So I went to ford DSFM to download the config file it was needing and moved it into the correct directory on the VM. It told me the calibration file was missing, (which it used to not do about a year ago on the older versions.I have read that ford made some adjustments, and it will still work if you go out and download the calibration file.). I go through the menus to do a replace and program on the PCM. I fired up my VM with FordIDS 122, plugged in my vxdiag, and ran the patch. I had a 2005 Ford Escape that I was trying to do a PCM replacement on.
Your statement is not entirely clear to me there are constant restrictions with later software VX Diag usees different drivers to IDS bosch drivers which have more access and functions. The main obsticle is online access to PATS codes to which relates to 4 main modules all others have no corellation with PATS and should be easily accessed with calibration file downloads but all PATS related systems online after 2010 will need to be paid for! or accessed via teamviewer with a paid account I have given up and just purchased the 2 day license of FJDS and used my passthru instead of my vxdiag. I never had this issue until I had to start manually downloading the config files. I am aware that one needs to go out and download the calibration files, however, the past 5 or 6 vehicles I have tried this on, it fails when it has you cycle the key on and off and back on and will not go on any further.
